ROSE Revision ProcedureIf you have gained back weight that was originally lost through successful gastric bypass bariatric surgery in South Florida, ROSE (Restorative Obesity Surgery, Endolumenal) revision surgery could be the right procedure for you. Although gaining weight after surgical weight loss can be disheartening, there's good news: the ROSE revision procedure is highly effective, minimally invasive and can help you take those extra pounds off again. At the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery, we are committed to helping men and women in Miami and Fort Lauderdale look and feel their very best. If you suffer from obesity, you understand that you haven't felt or looked the way you'd like in a very long time. That's why we've chosen to bring Dr. Emil Matei into our practice – to perform bariatric and weight loss surgery safely and effectively for beautiful, life-changing results. To learn more about the ROSE revision procedure, you can request a consultation online or call 954.565.7575 to schedule an appointment with Dr. Matei. How It WorksThe ROSE revision procedure reduces the size of your stomach and the opening to the small intestine to recreate the smaller shape you gained with your gastric bypass. As your stomach is again at its smaller size, you can consume less food and gradually lose weight. Benefits of ROSE RevisionIn Fort Lauderdale and Miami, ROSE revision gastric bypass surgery is minimally invasive and offers several benefits: it requires no incisions, involves very little post-operative pain, and will not leave a scar. In other words, you're getting the weight loss results of your original gastric bypass, without the invasive surgery. The ProcedureWhile you are under anesthesia, Dr. Matei will ease a tube through your mouth and into the stomach pouch. The tube contains four channels. Through one channel, a video device will transmit images of the interior of the stomach; through the other channels, small surgical tools will be inserted. With these surgical instruments, Dr. Matei will create multiple folds in the tissue of the stomach and around the opening to the small intestine. He will keep these folds in place with tissue anchors. You can expect to return to normal activities within a few days. You should plan on following a diet and exercise plan that will be very similar to the guidelines after your gastric bypass surgery.
